My Studio Tour!
Share
Hi! It occurred to me that y’all don’t know me very well. Unless you read my blog religiously and are signed up for my newsletter, you don’t know much of my personality, much less what the physical part of my business is like. So that’s what I’m sharing today!
I don’t have a brick-and-mortar store (though that would be awesome), but the artwork does have to come from somewhere!
My prints are painted in my bedroom-studio on a hand me down desk (view exhibit A). This is also where I do most of the behind the scenes stuff for my business, like updating the site, writing blogs and emails, planning, and procrastinating.

Then, because I’m like my mother and have a desk problem, I also have a hand me down drafting table. At the moment, it’s mostly just storage space, because I have yet to adjust the height to match my stool. It holds projects, packaging materials, print tests, paintings, sketchbooks, and (my favorite part) my makeshift animation set up.

I use ProcreateDreams to do simple animation on my iPad, and was gifted translucent paper from the assistant pastor at my church (it came with the drafting table, which he also gave me). I’ve decided to try and animate on paper with it. As soon as I finish my first test, I’ll share it with y’all ;)
I also use it to hold my India ink palettes. (Hint, hint - I’m gonna write a series on painting with India ink!)
And lastly, the book pile. I wish from the bottom of my soul that I could say these are the books I have both started and finished this year thus far. Alas, I cannot. These are the books I’ve started. Period. But summer is here, the beach is waiting, and I’m ready!

I shared this part of my “studio” because taking a break from creative hobbies is pretty important for maintaining said creativity. You need to take in good, creative content in order to make any… also I need to know if anyone else has this problem….
There you have it! My grand studio tour. I’m preparing to scale back to posting only every other week, but don’t worry! I’ve got plenty of art tips and art things planned, including:
-
A blog series on using India ink, because this art medium is not explored nearly enough on the internet
-
A special announcement in a couple weeks (including special ✨limited edition✨ prints…)
That’s all for now. Until next time!
